ClamXav is a powerful and effective free virus scanner for Mac. It uses ClamAV antivirus engine as a back end and has the ability to detect both Windows and Mac viruses.
You can setup ClamXav to scan only the files you want to or your entire hard drive; but you can also activate Sentry to monitor your hard drive and scan files as they arrive. Use this tool to check your incoming email and every file you download. Specify schedules to update virus definitions and perform scans.
